Not only is Baraboo that largest city in Sauk county with a population of over 12,000, but it is also home to the Circus World Museum, which is how Baraboo earned the nickname of “Circus City”. The Museum used to be a winter home and headquarters for the Ringling Brothers. Albert, one of the Ringling brothers, Al. Ringling Theatre back in 1915, which is still operating to this day. In addition to Baraboo’s fascinating history, it boasts a gorgeous downtown filled with local shops and restaurants and hosts year-round activities for the community, which attracts many families to move to the area.
